Ta Da!

Hooray! I totally finished my blogging picture upload-y goodness. Like my english? I get a cookie. Alas, since I've already posted all of my pictures (or at least the good ones) I have nothing to accompany this post... it's going to look so bare! Meh.
I took another trip to Glasgow on Wednesday. The University there is SO pretty. No pictures as of yet, my camera died and Amanda has all of them. I should also be banned from Primark. It's like shopping heaven and I shouldn't be allowed within 10 feet of the doors. Seriously.
So they're really big on the independent study a.k.a. tons and piles of reading here. I had a seminar yesterday for Islamic History in which I was given 50 minutes to rapidly discuss 109 pages of reading that apparently I was supposed to know like the back of my hand. I mean, come on, 50 minutes? I'm proud to say I survived. I miss Ole Miss now, if only for the sake of my poor brain.
Okay, that's all the babble you get today folks! Don't be greedy, you got pictures too! I love you and miss you, lots and tons.

Edinburgh, Day 17

I have eaten a sick number of clementines in the last three days. It's getting worriesome. I might call a doctor soon if I can't stop myself. This whole blog is basically going to be an exercise in stream of consciousness, aka all of the stream of consciousness-like thoughts I've had all day that I feel like sharing with you fine people...
I had an amazing lecture this morning. We're discussing the crusades in my Islamic History class and one of the world's leading scholars on Muslim perspectives of the crusades, Carol Hillenbrand, came and lectured to my class this morning. It was amazing! She made a wheetabix reference and managed to tell off someone on the radio (hypothetically, of course) for stealing her thought process from the last chapter of her book. Tres amusant.
Hindusim was boring. Enough said.
Ooer! Then I went grocery shopping. Here's a hint... if you have to carry your groceries home 8 blocks, don't buy tons of heavy stuff! On the plus side I got these really cute eco-friendly tote bags to carry my groceries home in from now on. That was exciting! And I bought garlic at the store that neither smelled or tasted like garlic. In fact it didn't smell or taste like anything. It was weird...
Ah well, now I'm attempting to read for my seminar on Friday, but keep getting distracted by BONES! Hodgins just made a dead fish milkshake. Eeew. Ally was probably eating when this aired. So yeah, that's about it for the day folks. Ps, isn't my city pretty?
Miss you and love you,
M

I was sick and tired of everything... when I called you last night from Glasgow!!!

Haha, just kidding. I love Glasgow! I just thought I should quote ABBA! Sorry it's been a few days! I went on a day trip to Glasgow yesterday. SO MUCH FUN! We went to this really cool pub for lunch and I tried HAGGIS for the first time! It actually wasn't that bad. It kinda tasted like ravioli filling, not gonna lie! We also went shopping at this really cool store called PRIMARK. I bought jeans and tops and everything was SO cheap! It was exciting, as well all know I'm a total shop-a-holic. So yeah, that's pretty much it. I'm gonna put up all of my pictures soon, I swear! I just haven't had the chance yet. By the way, I just spent an hour putting 70 pictures of everyone from back home on my walls. Feel loved people! More soon, promise promise.
Love,
M

This is New College

Greetings from scottish land!!! Sorry it's taken me so long to get this together! As many of you know, I haven't had internet since I got here.
Edinburgh is wonderful! It's so pretty here! I'm all settled in to my flat. I have three wonderful roommates, two from Scotland and one from Princeton.
My classes are wonderful. My Women and the New Testament class is the BEST! I'm also taking Islamic History and Hinduism. If you look to the left you'll see New College, it's the UE School of Divinity. The library has stained glass windows and there's a dining hall that is VERY Hogwarts-esque.
I'm also joining a few societies (that's what they call clubs here). So far it's just the international society for me, but I'll branch out soon enough.
All in all, everything is going well.
I'm going to Glasgow in the morning with a group of international students, there are about 13 of us. I'm hoping it's going to be a really good trip!
I'll put some more pictures up later in the weekend. I love you all! Send me addresses and I'll send you a post card in return!
